Ortho-Posture Super Pillowtop Mattress
The Ortho-Posture Super Pillowtop Mattress is a one-sided (no-flip) innerspring mattress of medium firmness. It is a proprietary brand and model, being sold only through Sleepy's and its affiliates (Mattress Discounters, 1800 Mattress, and Mattress.com Direct).

According to the online descriptions, this purpose of this model is to offer the customer "both comfort and quality." Among its advertised features are anti-microbial fibers, lumbar support, and a coil design which reduces rolling together. Additionally, the frame of the box spring is made of sustainable forest wood.

No-flip construction reduces the cost of the Ortho-Posture Super Pillowtop Mattress by eliminating the duplication of comfort layers. However, it also loses one advantage of a two-sided (flipable) mattress: longer life. A two-sided mattress lasts longer because the other sleeping surface shares the wear. But the one-sided mattress does not have to be flipped, a feat not everyone is able to do.

The primary support for the Ortho-Posture Super Pillowtop Mattress are the offset coil innersprings, more often found in higher end products. One advantage of offset coils is that they are quieter. They are hourglass shaped, but rounded at the top and bottom, sort of like a figure-8 profile. The gauge of the coil wire was not stated, but the coil count is 460 in a queen-size unit. Under the innerspring unit is an insulator pad, supporting the coils from the bottom and offering protection between the mattress and the box spring.

Foam encasement provides perimeter support for the coil unit and edge support for the whole mattress. One advantage of this is to make the entire sleeping surface usable, even for sitting on the edge.

Above the innerspring unit of the Ortho-Posture Super Pillowtop Mattress are layers of polyfoam, memory foam, soft polyfoam, and supersoft foam. All of these foams are made of soy-derived substances, which is intended to minimize the impact on the environment.

The memory foam is configured to provide lumbar support for the lower back. This is to help promote proper spinal alignment and reduce backaches. The memory foam lumbar pad is sandwiched between two polyfoam layers. Above these are the pillowtop layers of soft polyfoam and supersoft foam to temper the firmness of the layers below, yielding a medium comfort level.

The knit cover fabric of the Ortho-Posture Super Pillowtop Mattress contains flame-resistant "Safeguard" fiber, which was originally developed for use in upholstery. It also uses fibers which are anti-microbial. These fibers are also resistant to dust mites.

The Ortho-Posture Super Pillowtop Mattress offered with the Ortho Posture Titan Foundation, a box spring made by King Koil. It comes in two heights, Standard (9") and Low Profile (5").

The Ortho-Posture Super Pillowtop Mattress carries a 5-Year Non-Prorated warranty, and the Ortho-Posture Titan Foundation 10-Year Non-Prorated.
