The Bamboo Eurotop is a Medium Firm, one-sided innerspring mattress in the Specialty Bedding Collection by Paramount Mattress (PM), a family-owned mattress manufacturer in Los Angeles, California. It is handmade to order in PM's own factory using components made in the United States.
The Bamboo Eurotop combines the plushness of topside foams with the firm support of pocket coils made by Leggett & Platt under a bamboo fiber cover. The foams include latex, HD support foam, and a high density base foam.
The cover fabric of the Paramount Mattress Bamboo Eurotop mattress is stretch knit bamboo. It is quilted to super-soft quilting foam and Dacron fiber, probably Dacron Fiberfill made by Invista (Dacron is the trade name for a type of polyester). Bamboo fibers are naturally anti-microbial and resist dust mites, which are carriers of allergens. Quilting foam makes the cover plush and more pliable, while the fibers add loft and make it more breathable.
The Bamboo Eurotop has two "toppers" (comfort layers). The euro top itself is filled with natural latex (since they did not say "all-natural" or "100% natural", this leaves room for a blend of natural and synthetic latex). Latex foam is very resilient, even when plush, and is usually more durable than memory foam. It is hypoallergenic since allergy-triggering latex proteins are washed out afer curing. It also resists bacteria, mold and dust mites, and is non-toxic.
The composition of the "High Density Supersoft Foam" is not specified, so it is likely a kind of polyurethane foam, but not memory foam. Since the latex topper is described as plush, this is firmer for support. It would also serve as a transition layer between the plush latex above and the coils below.
The innerspring of the Bamboo Eurotop mattress is Leggett & Platt's high profile (tall) fabric-wrapped pocket coils. These coils in individual pockets respond independently, contouring to the shape of a sleeper's body. This distributes support evenly to support the less prominent body parts (such as the spine) and lessen pressure on larger parts (such as the hips). They also reduce transfer of motion from one side of bed to the other.
The innerspring is foam encased to hold the coils in place and support the sleeping surface edge. Beneath the coils is a base pad of high density foam as a shock absorber for the mattress.
Most of Paramount Mattress's sales are through their own store in Los Angeles. The Bamboo Eurotop is covered by a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
