Boutique Hotel Collection

The Boutique Hotel Collection by Paramount Sleep is designed to give customers the feel of sleeping in a luxurious boutique hotel. What is a "boutique hotel"? In the United States, Britain and Canada, it identifies hotels that are small, offering up-scale lodging in out-of-the-ordinary places.

Paramount Sleep names two hotels that feature mattresses in the Boutique Hotel Collection. One is the Hotel Mela in Times Square in New York City. The other is 21C, a chain of boutique hotels and modern art museums with locations in Cincinnati, OH, Louiville, KY, Bentonville, AR, and Durham, NC.

According to Paramount Sleep, Boutique Hotel Collection innerspring mattresses bring "a finely-tuned balance of luxury, comfort and support." The basis for this claim lies in the pocket coils, zoned foam, memory foam and latex. These are credited with pressure relief and "minimum partner disturbance." The promised result is quality sleep for comfort and restoration, that will be like being "on vacation."

Boutique Hotel Features

The feel of a Boutique Hotel mattress begins with the wrapped pocket coil innerspring. Invented about 1900 by James Marshall (they are also called Marshall coils) for relief of pain due to pressure and spinal misalignment, they are used by many mattress manufacturers for pressure relief and spinal support, even for side sleepers. The coil array is enveloped in foam encasement, which holds the independent coils in place and doubles as edge support for the sleeping surface.

Open-cell memory foam conforms to the contours of a sleeper's body, to add to the pressure relief of the pocket coils. The open-cell structure to allow air to filter through the foam for cooling to counter heat buildup.

The memory foam(s) in a Boutique Hotel mattress are zoned into five areas for support apportioned for parts of the body, with more support where needed.

The lumbar region has extra support from lumbar lifts of natural latex. Having this under the small of the back, besides relieving back pain, is also intended to reduce body impressions.

The cover of a Paramount Sleep Boutique Hotel mattress is silk & wool blend fabric quilted with rayon fiber. This combination is to provide loft and breathability. If the rayon is infused with silica, then this is a fire barrier too.
