Paramount Sleep HD Super Duty

Paramount Sleep designed HD Super Duty mattresses, introduced in the Fall of 2012, to handle heavy duty and last, a tall order for any mattress. The HD Super Duty is a PS innerspring line. The heavy-gauge coils work together with foam encasement and a heavy-duty foundation made of wood. The foams are latex, gel memory foam, and high-density poly foam.

At the core of the Paramount Sleep HD Super Duty is an array of tempered steel coils. These are 12.5 gauge, just about the heaviest mattress springs around. These heavier springs are larger than most, only 475 fitting within a queen-sized mattress. Additional spring wire is added to the 6-turn coils. The center third of the mattress has a greater coil density to give more support to the heaviest section of the body. The springs are laced in a head-to-toe fashion which, while tying the coils together, allows them to respond independently, conforming the support to the body above and dampening motion transfer.

The upholstery/comfort layers use an array of foams. Paramount Sleep believes these foams are of the highest quality. To last a long time with heavy sleepers, foams have to be durable, and these foams are formulated and processed to enhance durability. The combination of memory foam, gel memory foam, latex foam, and HD polyurethane foam is engineered to decrease body impressions and increase their lifetime.

The durability of the Paramount Sleep HD Super Duty models is enhanced by outer hand-tufting. This is to keep the layers in place. The layers are pre-compressed, making them firmer and more suppportive as well as longer-lasting. The tufting buttons are wool rosettes, more comfortable than hard materials.

Foam encasement provides perimeter support for the innerspring and edge support for the whole mattress. This is to make the mattress configuration more stable and the sleeping surface entirely usable. The user can sit on the edge, sleep without rolling off. It also helps keep two sleepers from rolling togetheer.

The foundation Paramount Sleep provides for the HD Super Duty mattresses is a wood slat foundation made by Pennsylvania Amish craftsmen. It has 16 slats, spaced to give full support to the mattress and the sleepers.

A testimonial is provided by Derek Poundstone, a competitor in the Strong Man contests and winner of several strong man titles, including "America's Stongest Man." He credits the HD Super Duty mattress with giving him a good night's sleep night-after-night.
