Nature's Spa

Nature's Spa is the newest brand of mattresses by Paramount Sleep, a series of hybrid mattresses. It is sold through Bloomingdale's, the high-end deparment store, and is featured at Blackberry Farm in Tennessee.

Nature's Spa mattresses feature the Joey Coil design, natural Talalay latex, gel-infused natural latex, New Zealand natural wool, natural cotton, outer tufting, and Amish-made wood foundations.

The Joey Coil is a coil in a coil, doubling the coil count in the mattress. The smaller coil is encountered during compression, increasing resistance after compression has begun. This means that there is initial softness of the mattress followed by firm support. Not only does this mean more support where needed, it makes the innerspring more durable. The innerspring is foam encased to provide perimeter support for the pocketed coils.

Natural Talalay latex, made from rubber tree sap, is used in the comfort core above the innerspring support core in Nature's Spa mattresses by Paramount Sleep. Latex is highly resilient, combining support and cushioning. The way Talalay latex is formed, it is breathable. Latex is naturally resistant to mold, mildew, and dust mites. Since the latex is rinsed repeatably, it is also hypoallergenic. The latex for the Nature's Spa mattresses is configured to five zones, tailoring support for fives areas of the body.

Paramount Sleep uses gel-infused natural latex in the topmost layer of a Nature's Spa mattress to keep the sleeping surface cool. The gel absorbs body heat from the sleepers and conducts it away from the sleeping surface to where it can dissipate.

The cover of the Nature's Spa mattress is natural cotton quilted with a double layer of New Zealand natural wool. The wool wicks away moisture to keep the sleeping surface dry. Wool is also a temperature regulator and is breathable. It also is naturally flame retardant, contributing to the safety of the mattress. The natural cotton is organically grown to be free of pesticides.

The multiple layers of latex, gel-latex and the cover are held in place by outer tufting . Using multiple layers of latex increases its breathability. It also enjances dampening of motion transfer, thus one sleeper can move around without disturbing the other.

Sold with the Nature's Spa mattresses at Bloomingdale's is an Amish-made wood foundation. This "box spring" is 9" high, and the "springs" are 16 wooden slats. There is also increased support at the edges.

Nature's Spa mattresses have a limited 20-year manufacturer's warranty.
