The basis for these claims is gel-infused memory foam. The 3" top layer of the Blueflex 10" Gel Memory Foam Mattress is made of ViscoFresh memory foam, which combines open-cell structure and gel-infusion. Open cell memory foam has connected bubbles which permit the filtration of air through the material, dissipating heat by convection. Microencapsulated gel is infused into the foam as a heat sink. Gel beads closest to the surface absorb heat from the sleeper's body. This heat spreads to other gel beads until it is finally transferred to the air.
