Essentials Prestbury Plush
The
Prestbury Plush is in the
Essentials Collection of
Serta's
Perfect Sleeper innerspring mattresses. It is one two middle models in this group; the other one is
Prestbury Firm.
This 12"
mattress has a comfort level on the plush side of Medium. Instead of an inch each of
Serta's
PillowSoft™ Foam and
Support Foam, it has one 2" layer of
PillowSoft™, making it definitely softer than the
Prestbury Firm. Like the Firm, it has the top layer of
Cool Twist™ Gel Memory Foam and the
Serta®
Insulator Pad next to the
innerspring.
The support core of the
Essentials Prestbury Plush is the 520-count
continuous coil innerspring. Called
Continuous Support, each row of coils (made from a single 13.75-gauge wire) runs from the head of the mattress to the foot. This reduces transfer of motion from one side of the bed to the other. Though less conforming than
offset or
pocket coils, continuous coils are both more affordable and longer-lasting. Softness is provided by the padding above the innerspring unit.
Cushioning begins at the top of the
Prestbury Plush. The top panel of the
cover is made of a blend of lycra,
polyester, and
rayon. This fabric is quilted to
Pillo-Fill® (
Serta's fiber quilt filling), flame-retardant
FireBlocker fiber, and an inch of
PillowSoft™ Foam. The cover of the sides (border) of the mattress are polyester for durability.
The recommended
foundations for the
Essentials Prestbury Plush are
Serta's
StabL Base platform foundation and the
Motion Perfect II adjustable bed.
