The second model listed in the
SmartSurface Elite Collection is the
Newfound Bay Firm. This collection of
innerspring mattresses is under the
Perfect Sleeper brand of bedding manufacturer
Serta.
The
cover of the
Newfound Bay Firm features the
SmartSurface Elite configuration. The blended fabric of lycra,
polyester and
rayon is quilted to
FireBlocker Fiber,
Body Loft® Anti Microbial Fiber,
MicroSupport® Gel in Latex, and ½" of Serta®
PillowSoft™ Foam. The moisture-wicking fibers of
Body Loft should resist harmful microbes. The
latex foam is infused with beads of Serta's MicroSupport
gel, strategically placed to support parts of the body needing it. The
PillowSoft is for cushioning.
The comfort layers (called "Top Upholstery" by
Serta) consist of
Cool Twist™ Gel Memory Foam, 2" each of
Serta's
PillowSoft Foam and
Support Foam, and an
Insulator Pad.
Cool Twist is
memory foam with liquid gel inside. The liquid gel adds support to the contouring of the memory foam. This is to relieve pressure points. The
PillowSoft and
Support foams balance plushness and firmness. The
Insulator Pad protects the foam from being torn by the coils.
The support core of the
SmartSurface Elite Newfound Bay Firm is
Serta's
Free Flex Innerspring. This was developed from the
Perfect Sleeper's
Continuous Support continuous coil design. It is designed to to be more conforming and for more motion isolation. It has a coil count of 814.
Custom Support® puts more
coils in the middle third to support heavier parts of the body.
Total Edge foam encasement provides edge support to prevent roll-offs. This make the entire sleeping surface usable.
The recommended
foundation for the
SmartSurface Elite Newfound Bay Firm is
Serta's
Motion Perfect Essentials, an
adjustable bed.
Serta also provides an enhanced
platform, the
StabL-Base Foundation, available in 9" Standard or 5" Low Profile.
