Custom Choice is the "new kid on the block" in the list of latex mattresses made by Pure Talalay Bliss (formerly Pure Latex Bliss). Actually, it is the new name on the list. All models in the PTB Mattress Collection are ActiveFusion mattresses. This refers to the phase change materials (PCMs) added to the covers and blended into the uppermost latex layers. The other five models bear the names of five mattresses in the former Natural and All-Natural collections with - Talalay Active attached.
Custom Choice - Talalay Active is a 12" high mattress with two 6" layers of Talalay latex. The bottom layer is extra firm support latex, and the top layer is described as "luxurious" latex. The overall comfort level is very firm (1 on a 10-point scale). However. if this is too firm, a 2" or 3" latex topper can be added. The topper is removeable.
The cover is a rich-looking knit with a "Luxury Wave" textured design. The material has embedded PCMs for temperature regulation. The same PCMs are in the top-level latex. This cover (at least the top panel) can be removed and washed to keep the sleeping surface clean.
The latex in the top layer conforms enough to relieve pressure on larger body parts and support smaller ones (such as the lumbar). But it is more resilient than memory foam, regaining its shape quickly.
Foundations the Custom Choice - Talalay Active mattress can be used on are a slatted wood foundation, a platform bed, a european-style wood slat foundation, or an adjustable bed. However, Pure Talalay Bliss recommends a K-D foundation by Ironwood Bed Frames. Using old-style (coil) box springs is discouraged.
The Custom Choice - Talalay Active is sold by dealers of luxury mattresses, for example California Luxury Mattress. It is covered by a 15-year non-prorated warranty.
