Relief-Mart Mattresses
An Overview

Relief-Mart, Inc., located in Westlake Village, California is, according to the Better Business Bureau, a seller of "pain relief, comfort and support products." Among other product, their product line includes mattresses. The types of mattresses sold are air, latex, and memory foam, which are sold online through Relief Mart subsidiary Selectabed. Relief Mart has an A+ rating from the BBB.

The current lineup of Relief Mart mattresses is as follows:

* Memory Foam
Relief Mart memory foam mattresses are sold under their Tempflow brand. The name "Tempflow" refers to the flow of air through the memory foam for cooling and freshness. This line includes the Memory Zone, Memory Zone Deluxe, Tri-Pedic Gold, Tri-Pedic Platinum, Tri-Pedic Diamond, Soft-Pedic, and Fibro-Pedic models. The first two are $$ in price, and the others are $$$. The Selectabed website compares these to equivalent Tempur-Pedic models. Tempflow has its own website.

* Latex
The principal model in the Latex line of Relief Mart mattresses is the Taluxe. This features Talalay latex foam manufactured in America by Latex International. Especially designed for sufferers of back pain, the top layer is soft latex, and the bottom layer is very firm to keep the upper layers from curling up. Another model under latex is the Soft-Pedic, which is also in the memory foam line. It is here because it has both latex and memory foam. Relief Mart also makes latex foam mattress pads.

* Air
Relief Mart also sells adjustable air mattresses, the Air-Pedic line. In this line are eight series. Six of these (the Air-Pedic 400-900 series) are 6-Zone systems, and the remaining two (Air-Pedic 200-300) are 2-Zone. These series are paired, with one being "Traditional" and the other "Memory Foam." The distinction between Traditional and Memory Foam is the content of the cover and the top comfort layer. The three pairs of 6-Zone series have the same air support layer, but progress in the thicknesses of the foam layers.

Relief Mart/Selectabed also sells a variety of beds on which to put their mattresses. The Bedroom Spice Collection features beds made from solid wood (not pressboard). They also sell adjustable beds made by Leggett & Platt, Reverie and Ergomotion.

Love the bed and the service

Mattress Rating: 5 starsMattress Comfort: up

It has been almost a year since we received our memory foam mattress from Selectabed and I wanted to write a review to help anyone who maybe shopping for a viable alternative to the overpriced Tempur Pedic brand. My wife has a queen size Tempur Pedic Classic she is in love with and wanted a king sized bed with the same firmness. After realizing it would cost almost $6,000 to get what we wanted, I began searching the internet for a reasonable substitute. The more I researched, the more depressed I became trying to sort out the cheats and fakers from the legitimate contenders. But one company was always at the top with every new search while others were falling to the wayside. I read testimonials over and over again trying to read between the lines to help me make a decision, wishing there would be an ah-ha moment and everything would click. One Saturday, I decided to call Selectabed and ask some stupid question that I can’t remember and was surprised when I discovered I was speaking with the owner Dr. Rick. (I actually didn’t know this until I hung up and looked back at the website) After that conversation, we conversed through email for at least a month before I had run out of questions trying to debunk him as I had done with so many other companies. The only question that remained was how to determine if his firm matched my opinion of firm. The only way to see was to go to Westlake, Ca. (a 5 hour drive one way) and see for myself. After trying several mattresses, my wife and I still weren’t convinced it was firm enough for us and although Dr. Rick was on a vacation back east, he called the office to see how our visit was going. Quite frankly, I was a little worried that an owner was paying such attention to us and I remember thinking that this was either a set up or the greatest customer service I have ever experienced. He suggested the salesperson show us new foam he had received in the manufacturing facility and to call him back. Sure enough, this is what we were looking for. He guaranteed he would build a bed that would make us completely happy. As we drove away, I knew the search was finally over. We not only ordered a king size bed, but also a queen for my mother. One year later and we are all 100% satisfied. We did not have to make any adjustments after delivery, Dr. Rick nailed it! The bed is exactly as advertised. I can’t believe how cool the mattress is compared to the Tepur Pedic. I could never sleep with covers because of the heat, but now I can sleep with covers and not wake up in sweats. If you are considering buying a memory foam mattress, you can have complete confidence that Selectabed will provide you with a quality product for a great price along with the best customer service you will ever receive. Relax and let Dr. Rick and his staff make your next bed for you without having any worries. P.S. Make sure you buy the adjustable frame, you won’t be disappointed. My wife was against the idea and now is so happy I insisted. I never knew that I slept best with my feet ever so slightly raised. I have never felt so refreshed in any other bed.
