Memory Foam Mattresses Collection could be said to be the basic collection by Rush Mattress, one of the newest mattress manufacturers, because all mattresses made by Rush, except the latex mattresses in the SimplyNatural Latex series, are memory foam mattresses. In two other collections the memory foam is treated differently. In BreezyCool it is reticulated, and in CoolNights it is infused with gel.
Currently, three models are listed in the Memory Foam Mattresses Collection: Blue Tranquility, Calm Seas, and Velvet Rope. They are all alike except for the thickness of the memory foam layer. Their overall heights are 6", 8" and 10" respectively. Retailers can also commission Private Label mattress models in this collection with their own choices of colors, fabrics and specifications.
Rush Mattress's claims for the Memory Foam Mattresses are that they relieve pressure points, absorb energy so the user can sleep undisturbed, contour to the body evenly, and are maintenance-free.
Rush Mattress's models in the Memory Foam Collection rely on a support layer of Rush Support Polycore. This American-made high density polyurethane foam provides underlying support for the entire mattress.
Each mattress in the Memory Foam collection is encased in a stretch knit cover. From the photos, it could be a damask, but is more likely a printed pattern. Nothing is said in the descriptions about quilting or a fire barrier. Stretch knit is a natural choice of fabric for a memory foam mattress, since the knit can conform to the memory foam underneath without bridging or bunching.
The star component of these memory foam mattresses is, of course, the comfort layer of memory foam. Heat sensitive, memory foam conforms to the weight and shape of a sleeper's body, which distributes support evenly along the entire length of the body. This even support holds up the spine and other recessed parts, while relieving pressure on the larger parts (since they do not carry all the weight). This memory foam has an open-cell structure, unlike the original memory foam, which makes it breathable and not as hot as the original product, though not as cool as reticulated or gel-infused foams.
The two lower models in the Memory Foam Mattress Collection, 6" Blue Tranquility and 8" Calm Seas, are listed as "value-priced" mattresses. The 10" Velvet Rope is billed as a "Thick, luxurious mattress for the discerning consumer" with a thick layer of memory foam. The exact thickness of the memory foam is not listed, and neither is the Polycore support layer. Neither layer can be very thick in the Blue Tranquility, so it appears that the thickness of both layers progresses through the the models with their overall heights.
Memory Foam Collection mattresses are compatible with platform beds and adjustable bases.
The warranty period is not specified, so for now we'll cite the 10-year warranty used by Rush Mattress for the BreezyCool and SimplyNatural collections.
