Savvy Rest has two hybrid mattresses. Together, they are called Simple Fit Mattresses. One is a specialty sleep hybrid (no metal springs), and the other is an innerspring hybrid.
Savvy Rest's specialty sleeep hybrid mattress is the Simplicity. Whereas most latex mattresses on the market have polyurethane support cores, no Savvy Rest mattress model uses polyurethane foam. The Savvy Rest Simplicity has a 3" support core made of coir. Coir, developed in South Asia, is coconut husk fibers embedded in natural rubber latex. How this works can be looked at two ways. The first is the latex giving the coconut fiber more cohesion, The second is the coconut fibers reinforcing the latex, making it firmer and tougher. For all appearances, coir is in itself a hybrid material. It is extremely firm, making it very supportive.
The upper layer of the Simplicity is 3" of 100% natural latex. This Dunlop latex is medium firm. It has all the previously described attributes of latex. Combined with the coir, that makes this 6" mattress extra firm. If the customer finds this too firm, Savvy Rest suggests adding one of their toppers to soften the feel.
The cover of the Simplicity is organic cotton. Instead of wool, it is natural graphite which provides flame resistance.
The recommended foundation for the Simplicity is a box foundation (not a box spring) or a platform bed, both of which are sold by Savvy Rest.
A few Savvy Rest retailers carry the Simplicity. The Simple Fit Mattresses, including the Simplicity, carry a 10-year warranty.
