The Unity Pillowtop natural latex mattress by Savvy Rest is easy to describe. Essentially, it is the Savvy Rest Serenity organic mattress with the Savvy Rest Harmony latex topper on top as an unattached pillow top. This combination is 13" high, adding the heights of the 10" mattress and the 4" topper. Somewhere, an inch needs to be accounted for, but this may be due to less wool batting between the mattress and the topper.
The Harmony Natural Latex Topper consists of a 3" all-natural latex layer in its own casing of organic cotton and organic wool. The customer can choose Dunlop or Talalay latex for the topper. With the other 3" latex layers, this gives an overall content ranging from all Dunlop (lowest price) to all Talalay (highest price). The firmness level of each layer can also be selected, yielding a wide range of overall firmness.
As can be expected, the Unity Pillowtop is the most expensive of Savvy Rest's latex mattresses.
All foam mattresses, including latex mattresses and memory foam mattresses, need firm support. Traditional box springs are not suitable. Acceptable foundations include slatted wood foundations, steel foundations with a grid support surface, European wood slats (if spaced about 3" or less apart), platform beds and bases, and adjustable beds. Three of these are suppplied by Savvy Rest.
The Savvy Rest Foundation is a pine box frame with wood slats from 2½" to 3" apart. It is covered with Savvy Rest's organic cotton casing. The SR Foundation is available in two heights: 9" Standard and 5" Low Profile.
Savvy Rest sells ten models of platform beds from simple platforms to headboard and footboard: The Ivy, Ashland, Camden, Danforth, Pembroke, Freeport, Lucerne, Zen, Trousdale and Wilcox. The first is made in Virgina by Savvy Rest using maple and poplar. The last two are produced by Urban Woods from reclaimed wood. The other seven come from BedWorks of Maine and are made of North American Ash.
Savvy Rest also sells the 7S Supreme adjustable foundation from Reverie, one of that manufacturer's two most advanced models. A Bluetooth upgrade is available for this model for controlling with your own handheld device.
The Unity Pillowtop mattress is available through retailers carrying Savvy Rest products. The cost of a Unity is sigificantly less than buying a Serenity mattress and a Harmony topper separately. It carries a 20-year warranty and a 90-day guarantee (sleep trial) period.
