Sealy Posturepedic Preferred Series Eaglewood Firm
Every mattress manufacturer has an entry-level line of mattresses, and for Sealy, it is the Preferred series. The Sealy Posturepedic Preferred series Eaglewood is the second model in the Preferred line, and falls into that position due to feel and price. Essentially, this mattress is a very slightly softer variant of the Bryant Park form the Preferred series.
All features of the Preferred series are incorporated into the Eaglewood, such as the PostureTech coil system, the UniCased edge support (which features a foam banner around the edge of the bed to increase side support), and the three-zoned SuperSoft foam to increase support under the hips. What you actually get, compared to the Bryant Park, is 0.75 inches (versus 0.50 inches) of comfort foam. Otherwise, you still get the zoned support feature and UniCased edge support.
As you might expect from a budget-minded selection like the Preferred series Sealy Posturepedic, the Eaglewood is a very firm mattress. You might sense an overall firmness similar to a typical car seat. With that level of firmness, you may not notice any difference between this model and the slightly cheaper Bryant Park model in this line. I recommend that you ignore the additional 0.25 inches of comfort foam and save the few dollars by getting the Bryant Park. Of course if you need a softer mattress in a similar price range, then you should look at the plush sibling for this model.
Update
The current Sealy Posturepedic series are now the Titanium SS Series, Titanium DS Series and Gel Series.
