The "i" in the name of the Sleep NumberŪ i8 bed by Select Comfort stands for Innovation. According to Select Comfort, the "i8 bed features revolutionary innovations for your total sleeping comfort." Among these Sleep Number innovations are
* DualAir technology to enable the user to adjust each side of the bed independently from the other,
* A 3-inch comfort layer to support the user's curves,
* Duvet-style Pillowtop configuration which includes temperature balancing technology to keep down swings in temperature, and
* A wireless digital remote which lets the user quickly and easily adjust the Sleep Number settings on each side of the bed with user-selected settings memory.
The height of the mattress itself is 13". The overall height depends on which base is used and whether legs are used with the base. Select Comfort's Sleep Number modular base is 8" high, and the legs are either 7 1/2" or 4 1/2". Other available options are Headboard and Footboard brackets and a rolling bed frame.
