Serta iComfort EFX
iComfort EFX is the newest collection in the
Serta iComfort series of
memory foam mattresses. At this time, the
iComfort EFX collection has five models:
Brilliant EFX,
Visionary EFX Plush,
Visionary EFX Cushion Firm,
Intellectual EFX and
Aura EFX.
The "EFX" in
iComfort EFX stands for
EverFeel Technology, the combination of materials and construction in this collection.
Serta claims that the difference in the
iComfort EFX mattresses is their
foam: "All foam is not created equal." The foams used in these
mattresses are
Cool Action™ Dual Effects® Gel Memory Foam,
Cool Action™ Gel Memory Foam,
Comfort Last® Foam,
EverCool® Memory Foam,
Serta® PillowSoft™ Foam, and
Serta Support Foam. The first three are used in all
EFX models, and the last three in selected models.
Serta's explanation is that in their gel foams, the
gel is "actually infused directly into our exclusive premium memory foam while the foam is being produced."
Cool Action™ Dual Effects® Gel Memory Foam - This memory foam is infused with two kinds of gel, one for support and one for cooling. These are called MicroSupport® and MicroCool+™. The Cool Action™ Gel Memory Foam has just the Microcool+. The gel is in addition to the open-cell structure of the memory foam. Also, according to the company, their foams have twice as much gel as "discount" foams, and is also denser.
Serta says that these materials keep relieving pressure under a wide range of home temperatures.
iComfort EFX mattresses also feature Ultimate Edge and Avantec™ Performance Fabric. Ultimate Edge is the edge support for the sleeping surface. Avantec, in the cover, is a blend of polyester, Tencel and lycra. The Tencel controls moisture and temperature.
The models in Serta's iComfort EFX collection range in firmness from ultra plush to ultra firm, and from 9" to 13" in height. They are available through national department store chains, such as Sears, Macy's and J.C. Penney, as well as numerous local and regional retailers, both online and in stores. These mattresses have a 25-year limited warranty.
