Shifman Bloomingdale's Collections
After Mike hammer bought Shifman Mattress Company in 1985, he moved to increase sales without sacrificing quality. One way was to focus on high end furniture and bedding retailers. As part of this move, Shifman agreed to provide Bloomingdale's stores exclusively designed and branded mattresses, hence the Bloomingdale's Collections.

There are three Bloomingdale's collections of Shifman mattresses. They are: the Handmade Collection, the Anniversary Collection, the Natural Embrace Collection

The Handmade Collection is the equivalent of the Masters and Ultra Premium collections available through other retailers. This top-of-the-line collection was first made available at Bloomingdale's in March 2011.

The signature features of the Handmade Collection are two-sided design for longer life, Sanosoft hand tufting for comfort and structural integrity, and boxsprings with hand-tied 8-way springs. Bloomingdale's says, "Up to 95% natural materials including up to 83 lbs. of cotton, natural latex foam and exotic upholstery materials such as cashmere, silk, angora and New Zealand Joma wool." The upholstery uses "the finest domestic and European fabrics."

The heart of Handmade Collection mattresses is the innerspring unit. The double-offset coils are heavy-gauge steel. The mattresses and the boxsprings have edge supports of heavy-gauge steel (titanium in some models).

Five model names are listed on the Bloomindale's website: Elegance (14" Pillow Top), Ultimate (16.5" Pillowtop and Plush Pillowtop), Original (13.5" Plush Pillowtop, 12.5" Med Firm Pillowtop, 10.5" Firm), Memory (13" Plush Pillowtop), and Exquisite (13" Plush Pillowtop and 14.5" Firm Pillowtop). They range in height from 10 to 16.5 inches.

The Anniversary Collection, the equivalent of the Shifman Quilted Collection, was to be launched in August 2013, but at the time of this writing no models have appeared on the Bloomingdale's website.

Shifman's description of the Anniversary collection is this:
~ The Anniversary Collection is the introductory line of quality mattresses offering a broad choice of comfort levels featuring:
• Two-sided construction for extended comfort life
• High natural cotton content and foam upholstery layers
• Machine quilted surfaces
• Heavy steel innersprings
• Foam edge supports in mattresses
• Beautiful Belgian damask covers with complementary borders
• Combination coil and modular boxsprings with all-coil construction on select models

The Natural Embrace Collection is equivalent to the Shifman Pure Comfort Collection. There is only one model, Regal, available online. There may be more available in their stores. Bloomingdale's says, "Exclusively at Bloomingdale's, the Shifman Natural Embrace Collection is Shifman's Latex line that meets the highest standard in luxury, comfort and hand-crafted quality. Each mattress is two-sided, which means they can be flipped over for a fresh sleep surface when annoying body impressions start to form."

The Regal is a 13" high plush tight-top mattress. The 6" support core is high-density Talalay latex. On either side of this are Talalay latex, plush Talalay foam, and supersoft foam. The cover of the Regal is made of woven Belgian damask.

The Shifman Bloomingdale's Collections are available at over 50 Bloomingdale's stores in 12 states and Dubai.
