Simmons Beautyrest Recharge World Class Alexandria
Alexandria is a series in the Beautyrest Recharge World Class collection by Simmons. It has pillowtop and tight-top models in Plush, Firm, and Luxury Firm comfort levels. It is a World Class series which does not have a micro-coil layer. In the market, Alexandria is called Phillipsburg or Sea Glen by some retailers. Some retailers have their own names for Beautyrest Recharge World Class models, and only a comparison of models with the same comfort level will identify the equivalent model.

The principal difference between the Beautyrest Recharge and Recharge World Class collections is in the Beautyrest® Pocketed Coil® innerspring. The coil count (Queen) is 800 in Recharge and 1000 in World Class. Some World Class models also have a 1000-count layer of pocketed micro-coils.

Beautyrest® Pocketed Coils® are individually fabric-wrapped coils. Each coil responds independently from those next to it. This allows the coil array to comform to the body contours of the sleepers. It also minimizes motion transfer so one sleeper does not disturb the other. These coils are lighter (15½ gauge) and smaller than those in the 800-count innerspring, but heavier (13½ gauge) on the outer row. The higher coil count is to provide the needed support and enhance conformability, and the lighter gauge is to facilitate the higher coil count and make each coil more responsive.

The cover is a stretch-knit fabric and fire barrier fiber quilted to 1¼" AirFeel foam and another foam (firm or soft, depending on the model), both of which are ventilated for air flow.

The comfort layers feature TruTemp gel. TruTemp has "phase change materials" (PCMs). PCMs change their physical state when the temperature is over or under a determined range. If it is too hot, the PCM absorbs heat and liquifies. If it is too cool, liquid PCMs solidify, releasing heat.

Recharge World Class mattresses, including those in the Alexandria series, feature the Beautyrest Air Cool Design. The mattresses are designed to enhance airflow for cooling and freshness. Air Cool Design includes the edge support. The ½" thick foam rail is vented horizontally so it is not an airflow barrier. Also, the border is mesh for the same purpose. Air flows through the AirCool open-cell memory foam, then out through the foam rail and the mesh.

The bottom comfort layer of an Alexandria mattress is Beautyrest Energy Foam, a support material. This smooths out the support of the coils and undergirds the more conformable foams above. The height of the Energy Foam depends on the model.

The recommended base for the Beautyrest Recharge World Class Alexandria models is Simmons' Triton, a specially designed box spring foundation which can support 2000 pounds. Simmons requires the supportive equivalent of this foundation or its NuFlex Adjustable Foundation as a condition of its warranty.

The Alexandria mattresses carry a Simmons Beautyrest 25-year limited warranty with the first 15 years non prorated and the last 10 years prorated.
