Simmons BeautySleep Collection
Most of us have heard the term "beauty sleep" used for sleep beyond what is absolutely necessary. This term had been used negatively, but research shows the importance of getting enough sleep, especially in a society where many persons are sleep-deprived. Now we know that adequate sleep is needed for health, to perform well, to feel well, and - yes - to look good. So Simmons has called one of their mattress collections BeautySleep. Their claim is that this collection's combination of support and comfort will help the user to sleep better, with the accompanying benefits. The Simmons brochure for this product says, "Thinking about sleep? . . . Think about a BeautySleep mattress from Simmons."

The core of a BeautySleep mattress's strength is inside. The support of the mattress is the innerspring core using Simmons' 700 Series Coil Technology in some models or its High Performance Coil System in the others.

The 700 Series Coil Technology uses individually wrapped coils to accurately tailor its support to the weight and contours of the sleeper's body. The purpose of this is to provide better back support while reducing or eliminating pressure points, such as at the hips and shoulders. This array also minimizes motion transfer, thus minimizing partner disturbance.



BeautySleep's High Performance Coil System is like a Bonnell coil unit with hourglass-shaped coils tied together in a grid. However, in this grid a support edge runs along between the outer row of coils and the next row in. This type of innerspring is preferred for overall even support in very firm mattresses. It is also very durable.



Atop the innerspring unit of a BeautySleep mattress is Simmons's GelTouch foam. Gel beads are embedded in memory foam to enhance the support of this conforming material and to carry away body heat, cooling the sleeping surface.

Depending on the model, the cover fabric of Simmons BeautySleep mattresses is either Damask or a soft stretch knit. Damask is silky and soft for those who prefer smoothness. The stretch knit is knit in a circular pattern, making it not only soft, but yielding in any direction to complement the GelTouch foam underneath.

Edge support for the Simmons BeautySleep Collection is provided by foam encasement. This protects the ends and sides of the mattress, prolonging its lifetime, as well as supporting the whole sleeping surface, making it entirely usable, even for sitting on the edge.

Simmons BeautySleep mattresses are constructed in a one-sided, no-flip design. This helps keep down the cost of the product. And there are many people who would not be able to flip a mattress if it were flipable.

Simmons suggests their Triton Lite Foundation as the box spring for mattresses in the BeautySleep Collection. These mattresses are also suitable with adjustable beds.

Mattresses in the BeautySleep Collection are covered by a 10-year limited warranty. Simmons mattresses are sold through many retailers: independent furniture and bedding stores, regional and national furniture chains, department stores, and online outlets.
