What is The Latest Thing? What is All The Rage? These are the names of two of the three models (or series) in the CURV® Collection of memory foam mattresses unveiled by Simmons in July 2013 (the third model is Vogue). According to Simmons, the CURV® brand should be available in the Fall of 2013.

This line was designed to offer quality memory foam mattresses for prices less than $1,000. Surveys show that most shoppers are interested in memory foam mattresses, but even more are deterred by the cost of memory foam. The target market is young adults under age 35, but one commenter says that this is also good for those who are over 35.

Why is this line called "CURV"? The surface of these new mattresses is shaped into a pattern of horizontal curves (see photo). According to Simmons, "Each mattress features CURV’s specially designed memory foam, shaped in an exclusive horizontal curve pattern designed to support and conform to the curves of the body, while facilitating airflow for a comfortable, restful night’s sleep." This appears to be developed from convoluted foam, which is already widely used in mattresses to improve both conformability and ventilation. Some models of the CURV® will have gel with its benefits of support and coolness.

Features
The Simmons CURV® Collection is designed and made in the United States and has a 10-year warranty. It uses polyurethane foam which is certified by CertiPUR-US. And it will be sold with a Simmons foundation which is designed and built to provide the support needed to extend the usable life of these mattresses.

Here are specifications for the three current CURV models:

The Latest Thing is 8" high, featuring 1¹/₂" of Simmons' exclusive CURV foam (described above). The 1" of support foam is plush, and the high density support core is 5¹/₂".

All The Rage has a 9" profile with 2¹/₂" of the exclusive CURV foam which is infused with gel for an additional cooling effect, and a 6¹/₂" base foam support core.

Vogue is the high end of the CURV line. It is 10¹/₂" high. The gel memory foam is 1" thick with another 2¹/₂" of memory foam under it. All this rests on a 7" base of heavy-duty HD support foam.
