Simmons SlumberTime Firm
Simmons Kids is home to just the type of bed parents generally shop for when shopping for their kids: Durable and affordable. The Firm SlumberTime beds are available in a standard 10 inch thickness or “RightHeight” 7 inch thickness, designed for bunk beds and trundle beds. The features of each bed are otherwise the same. Each SlumberTime mattress comes equipped with a Bonell coil system, a staple for about 100 years, and Foam Encased edge support for full perimeter support.
When compared to the Simmons Kids Beginnings beds, the SlumberTime beds seem to lack a little on features. What you should consider is that, typically speaking, children have far fewer occasions where a more luxurious mattress would be a requirement. The basic coil spring network and simple materials used translate into less expense at time of purchase and fewer components where a problem could arise when your children misuse their bed.
With the full sized mattress set coming in under $500 typically including the Triton Lite foundation, we would not expect the SlumberTime beds to carry a lengthy warranty. Simmons feels the same way and only provides a 3 year warranty on the series. In other words, you could save a couple hundred dollars up front versus the Beginnings series from Simmons Kids, but you will sacrifice 7 years of warranty coverage. To put that into perspective, imagine if you purchase a Simmons Kids bed at the end of each warranty, you would buy 3 SlumberTime beds in the lifespan of 1 Beginnings bed.
