The Sleep Innovations 12-Inch Allure Memory Foam Mattress is a firm memory foam mattress, making it more suitable than plush mattresses for heavier sleepers. The 3-inch SureTemp™ Memory Foam top layer is followed by 2 inches of spring foam and 7 inches of Premium Support Base Foam.
The 3-inch SureTemp™ Memory Foam top layer in the Sleep Innovations 12-Inch Allure Memory Foam Mattress is a viscoelastic foam which has been infused with a microencapsulated gel that functions as a heat sink. What this means is that the gel absorbs the body heat of the sleeper and transfers it to other gel beads, taking the heat away from the sleeper and forestalling heat build-up. The SureTemp™ also has been processed to make it porous, allowing air to permeate and circulate, cooling the mattress and the sleeper even more.
Memory foam is known primarily for its conformity to the shape and weight of persons sitting or lying on it. This alleviates the pain, soreness and discomfort of pressure points. Different grades of memory foam have different degrees of comformity within the limits of what can be termed "memory foam," with firmer grades preferred for heavier persons or others requiring firmer support.
Beneath the memory foam layer of the Sleep Innovations 12-Inch Allure Memory Foam Mattress is a 2-inch support layer of spring foam. This resilient layer produces the needed support to prevent sagging. It is also contoured to provide more air flow, improving the cooling effect for enhanced comfort.
