The Spine Center/Madison Series of innerspring mattresses by Spring Time Bedding has two models: Madison 126 and Spine Center 971. These are 9" high pillowtop models; they have an extra layer of foam in the pillow top.
The innerspring unit in the Spine Center/Madison mattresses is the standard 312 count of 13/6-gauge coils. These springs give Spine Center 971 and Madison 126 the firmness needed for back support. A multiple-layer insulator pad separates the coils from the foam layer above. This is to protect the foam from damage.
Both Spine Center/Madison models have a comfort-support layer of firm high-density foam. This is paired with a softer foam in the pillow top. Comparing these innerspring mattresses with the 9" models in the Cozy Night/Orthopedic Series, it appears that these two layers total about 1½" in height.
Edge support in the Spine Center/Madison mattresses is supplied by double-Z bars. While supporting the edge of the sleeping surface to make it 100% usable and prevent roll-offs, the double-Z design allows a small amount of compression to maintain cushioning flexibility.
The top panel of the Damask cover is quilted to polyurethane quilting foam for a more supportive cover. The mattress will (most likely) be covered with sheets, but when the sheets are off, the brocade-like appearance is pleasant to the eyes.
Spring Time Bedding sells three platform beds and two upholstered wood foundations for use with the Madison 126 and the Spine Center 971. The foundations are available in two heights: Standard (7" for Spine Center, or 9" for Madison) and Low Profile (5"). The mattress can be placed directly on the platform bed, but putting a foundation between can raise the surface height if you want. Having a qualifying foundation is a requirement of the warranty.
Spring Time Bedding has a 5-year non-prorated warranty on the Spine Center/Madison mattresses, followed by a period of prorated coverage.
