Spring Air Back Supporter 500 Series
About their signature brand, Back Supporter, Spring Air says it provides "Exceptional Back Support" and "Pressure Relieving Comfort." The "exceptional back support" starts at the bottom with the base materials, which Spring Air claims are "carbon neutral," and continues through the innerspring core, in which the coils may be high density or pocketed. The "pressure relieving comfort" refers to the comfort layers of foams, especially latex.

Mattresses in the Spring Air Back Supporter 500 Series have an innerspring unit of high density, heavy duty, dual-gauge coils. This unit is foam encased for lateral support for the springs (the foam encasement also provides edge support for the whole mattress). The size, rotation and gauge of the individual coils is arranged in five zones to provide more support where needed while adjusting coil height for the contours of sleepers' bodies.

The actual composition, thickness and arrangement of the foam comfort layers varies by model, but every model in Spring Air's Back Supporter 500 Series uses latex and memory foam. In some of the models, memory foam is infused with gel for its cooling and support properties. Spring Air Back Supporter mattresses also use "Conforma" convoluted foam. These foam layers, like the coil unit, are zoned to tailor the conformity and support for parts of the body. This is to relieve pressure on the hips and shoulders while still promoting proper spinal alignment. Because of the differences in foam layers, the height of mattresses in this collection varies widely, from 9¹/₂" to 16¹/₂", with the pillowtop and eurotop models being the thickest.

For the Back Supporter 500 beds, Spring Air supplies its own Eco-Wood foundation. "Eco wood" is wood which is treated with "Eco Wood," a non-toxic, environmentally friendly wood treatment. This foundation, made to Spring Air specifications, is to provide both stability and durability for the mattress.

The Spring Air Back Supporter 500 Series mattresses come with a 10-year non-prorated warranty.
