The Stearns & Foster Luxury series mattress is available in the ultra plush configuration. Ultra plush beds should give you the feeling that you are lying on nothing except comfort padding. Using a Euro-top layer and multiple layers of soft comfort foam should help achieve this feeling and remove any subtle feel of pressure over your entire body. As a word of caution, ultra plush beds are not for everyone. Usually, side sleepers and medical needs are the best candidates for an ultra plush mattress. Of course, if you do have certain medical conditions which may be affected by the bed you sleep in, it would be best to consult your physician before selecting a mattress which could possibly aggravate your condition.
An ultra plush bed, such as those offered by Stearns and Foster in the Luxury line, typically use 5 or more inches of comfort foam at the upper levels of the mattress. This is to ensure that only the general shape of your body is transmitted into the individually pocketed springs below those layers. This will serve to remove most pressure points and help to give you the impression that you are sleeping on a cloud. Of course, on the Luxury line, we should not overlook the fact that one of those layers of comfort foam is actually latex foam, to help reduce pressure points more effectively, and another layer is VRT foam, zoned to provide a little extra support in the hip area.
The top end Luxury mattress sets from Stearns & Foster are definitely master bedroom quality, and may be found in more exclusive travel destinations worldwide. With queen set prices exceeding $1500, we would not recommend shopping this line of mattress for kids or guest rooms, simply due to the fact that you may not get the service that a bed of this caliber has to offer.
