Stearns & Foster Robson Street Luxury Firm
The Robson Street Luxury Firm mattress from Stearns & Foster is a premium firm mattress featuring a soft initial feel and firm overall feel thanks to an added layer of memory foam near the surface. The Robson Street model is available in ultra plush to ultra firm configurations and a pillowtop option is also available. For now we are going to focus on the Luxury Firm model.
When you look into the makeup of the Robson Street Luxury Firm mattress by Stearns & Foster, you will find a mattress with multiple layers of foam of various densities and materials to help produce a wonderfully comfortable but still firm bed. When you consider premium beds, this ranks in the middle of the road: not too expensive and complex, but definitely not a warehouse-store buy. With the Stearns & Foster name it would be hard to beat the value built into this sleep system.
The Luxury line from Stearns & Foster all feature individually pocketed coil springs surrounded by a 2.5 inch wide Full Encasement system to contain the springs and provide extra edge support. The coil counts are from 930 in a king size to about 406 in a standard twin. The coils are a robust 13.75 gauge (substantially thicker than a wire coat hanger), which can support a lot of weight and should withstand several years worth of compression without fail. You also have peace of mind knowing that for 10 years you are covered from rips and tears in the stitching, protruding springs, and excessive sag.
Stearns and Foster has created a mattress which has very little competition in its class and price range. Although the warranty is shorter than some others, the quality and design are not. With several features found only in beds at much higher prices, including Marvelux firm foam, to distribute weight more evenly and memory foam to help reduce pressure points, the Robson Street Luxury mattress looks like a wise choice to us.
