Emma is an older innerspring mattress made by Symbol Mattress. It is the equivalent of Cavalier in the current Traditional Series (Emma is a trade name used for this model by some retailers, such as Rent One, a rent-to-own store in St. Louis). This firm mattress, with little padding, is about 8" high, shorter than a 9" foundation.

Support in the Emma relies on the 460 coils in the innerspring unit. These are VertiCoils, made by Bedding Components, a subsidiary of Leggett & Platt. A version of offset coils, they are designed to provide even support across the bed with a degree of conformity not found in Bonnell coils or continuous coils.
The coil unit is foam encased, including top and bottom. Besides providing edge support to the sleeping surface, this high density firm foam insulates the coils from the comfort foam on top and protects the coils on the botton (also protecting the bottom cover and the foundation from the coils).
High density polyurethane foam in the comfort layer above the innerspring cushions the sleeper(s).
The top panel of Emma's cover is quilted to high loft flame retardant fibers with diamond stitching. The sides are also diamond stitched. The fabric is not identified, but it is probably polyester, perhaps cotton.
The Emma by Symbol Mattress is availble in Twin, Full, Queen and King sizes. It is the least expensive mattress listed by Rent One, with a term of 24 weeks.
No specific foundation is recommended for Emma, but this kind of mattress will be compatible with box springs and slatted bases. It will also work on a platform bed, and perhaps with an adjustable bed (check with the retailer). The warranty period was not named, but a chart on Symbol's website matches the number on the tag to the warranty.
