Tempflow Opulence

Opulence is the newest model in the Tempflow line of memory foam mattresses. Tempflow's mattresses are compared to equivalent models of Tempur-Pedic, the original manufacturer of memory foam mattresses. The Opulence is the equivalent of the Tempur-Cloud Elite.

The Tempflow Opulence is a medium plush mattress. According to Tempflow, it has "a bit less softness on the surface" than the Tempflow Celestia. While the top layer of 5# SD Ultra-Plush Biogreen® Memory Foam is 3" thick in the Celestia, in the Opulence it is 2" thick. Biogreen® is Tempflow's own formulation of memory foam. According to Tempflow, it is certified as "free of dangerous chemicals like PBDE, TDI, Boric Acid and Bromine." The 5-lb-density SD™ (superior density) version is more pressure-sensitive and less heat-sensitive than the less-dense Biogreen, as well as more durable (the lighter the density of memory foam, the less durable). The key benefit of the memory foam is its conformability, which supports the entire body and relieves pressure.

The Opulence has only three layers (Celestia has four). The second layer is 3" of SD-Comfort-Flex, which the company describes as a "hybrid foam." This is an extremely resilient material which serves as the transition between the ultra-plush comfort layer and the ultra-firm support core. Dr. Rick Swartzburg says that the Tempflow Opulence has almost as much back support as the Tempflow Copia.

The 5" high firm support core of the Tempflow Opulence is high-density, high-resilience polyurethane foam. The top surface of this support core is sculpted into airflow channels. This is part of Tempflow's Airflow Transfer System™, which also includes vertical ventilation of the foams above, designed for cooling and freshness of the entire mattress.

The cover (sock) of the Tempflow Opulence is a stretchable, 365 weight fabric which is vented to allow the airflow to reach the sleeper(s). Its strechability allows it to conform to the SD Biogreen Memory Foam as it conforms to the body.

The Tempflow Opulence is covered by a 40-year warranty. The company also has a four-month sleep trial period. It is available through authorized Tempflow dealers as well as online through Tempflow.

We truly couldn't be more satisfied and pleased!!

Mattress Rating: 5 starsMattress Comfort: up

The mattress we have is perfect for us. I believe it was determined by answering a short series of questions. Our sleep habits and size were very important in determining the firmness of our superb mattress.

Mattress Durability: up

We have only had this mattress for two weeks however the quality and construction seem very durable!!

Mattress Support: up

Never having owned a memory foam mattress before, it is surprisingly supportive! So soft it's like getting a big hug every time I get in.

Mattress Features and Benefits as Advertised: up

We really like the material the cover is made of and of course the elegant look and color. The warranty really does speak for itself. It's not ten years or fifteen years, it's a forty year warranty which means Rick and his team believe in their quality product!

Quality: up

Jon described to us how the mattress is made, precision cutting machines, stitching, and quality foam make this a fine product.

I was nervous about buying an expensive mattress online and without the benefit of laying on it in the store. Fortunately, those fears were misplaced. The beds arrived arrived the day we moved in so that timing worked great. Second, the beds are FANTASTIC. I kept the boxes in case I had to return them but threw away the boxes after the first night. Everyone in the family is enjoying the new beds. As a long time Tempurpedic user, I was concerned that I would not like it (and also buying a bed I never laid on was a bit of a leap of faith) but we could not be happier with our purchase. The fact that the beds are low VOC is also a great comfort.

Mattress Rating: 5 starsMattress Comfort: up

The mattress is extremely comfortable and has two features that distinguish it from the tempurpedic mattress that we used to own. First, the air flow really works so you don't heat up during the night. Second, the low VOC has made it so that we don't smell the horrible off gassing of other mattresses. We have slept great on this mattress since day one.

Mattress Durability: neutral

Too early to tell

Mattress Support: up

Provides proper support but is not so firm as to cut off circulation. It is excellent

Mattress Features and Benefits as Advertised: up

Exactly as advertised, comfortable and stays cool, which is key for a foam mattress.

Quality: up

Great product, well manufactured and nice detail work

My wife and I looked at different mattresses and after all the internet search and visiting some Sleep number and Tempur-Pedic stores, we decided to give Temp-Flow a visit. Gerald Misemer was very nice to accommodate us to visit the showroom even on a Sunday. They (Relief-Mart, Inc. Selectabed) have most of the popular models in the showroom that we tried all of them and Gerald explained to us how the mattress patented air flow works. We decided to buy the Opulence which is one of the top models that is comparable to the Tempur-Pedic Tempur Flex Elite. The Opulence is a lot less than (about 1/3) cost of Flex Elite and we like the way the foam contour to our body better than the Flex Elite seems more firm. This is the second month that we had the bed and all I can say, we should had bought this bed sooner. As a couple using a spring mattress for more than 2 decades (last one is almost 7 years) and having back pains, I can say that our back pain are gone. We do have to adjust for a few night since we have a medium firm spring mattress before. Up to now, we didn't suffer any back pain. For the heat that most people complained about having a memory foam bed, no need to worry about this product. The patented air flow system really works. We never felt any discomfort due to mattress being too hot at night. This is definitely the best investment we ever did specially with the warranty. I highly recommend this mattress to anyone specially if one is having back issues.”

Mattress Rating: 5 starsMattress Comfort: up

Very comfortable. A little softer than the Tempur-Pedic Flex Elite model

Mattress Durability: up

Do not know about the durabilty but with the 40 year warranty, it is good. looking at the mattress when it was delivered, the foam that sat on top of each other was done very neatly that you can't feel the edges of the foam sitting on top of each other. It is MADE IN THE USA what more can you ask. Unlike other mattresses that are made overseas.

Mattress Support: up

Very good back support

Mattress Features and Benefits as Advertised: up

I liked how the advertised features are detailed.

Quality: up

The quality of the mattress surpasses our expectation. There is no odor when we got the mattress.

We've only had our mattress a couple of weeks, but so far, we are very happy!

Mattress Rating: 5 starsMattress Comfort: up

The mattress is soft yet firm. It doesn't cause the usual hip pain I suffered with my old pillowtop mattress and it doesn't sleep hot like most memory foam mattresses.
