Tempur-Pedic is well-known for memory foam mattresses made with their own version of this visco-elastic material called TEMPUR-Foam. In fact, the company itself is a take-off from the Swedish group that redeveloped for commercial use the visco-elastic foam used by NASA for astronauts' launch seats.
Now, with the TEMPUR-Choice Collection, Tempur-Pedic has entered the air bed market. This collection has two models at present: the 14" TEMPUR-Choice Luxe and the 13" TEMPUR-Choice Supreme, which differ basically in the depth of the top layer of TEMPUR-Foam (memory foam), which conforms to the contours of the body for cradling comfort.
The "choice" in "TEMPUR-Choice" is the choice the user has of the support level (i.e. air pressure) in the mattress. In the case of queen size and larger, each side of the mattress can be adjusted separately, which means two sleepers with different comfort needs can each choose ones own comfort level.
Each user has multiple zones which can be controlled individually to fine-tune the firmness of the mattress. When you use a TEMPUR-Choice mattress, you can select how firm or soft you want the feel for your head, your back, and your legs, and your partner can do the same for his or her side. Talking about fine tuning, there are actually two adjustable-air sections: the main support core and the base layer.
Both of the mattresses in the TEMPUR-Choice Collection, the Luxe and the Supreme, have a cover of stretch-knit and linen (white linen also covers the matching foundations). This cover is removeable and washable.
The recommended foundations for TEMPUR-Choice Collection mattresses are the Tempur-Pedic box spring designed for them, either high (9") or low (5") profile, or the TEMPUR-Ergo Adjustable Base. These mattresses come with a 25-year limited warranty.
TEMPUR-Choice is no longer a separate collection. The TEMPUR-Choice mattresses are now in the new Special Solutions Collection.
