The Tempur-Contour Allura is a medium-feel memory foam mattress with a quilted pillow top. Although it has a pillow top, I did not feel like my body was sinking down into a hole in the mattress. This is because of the Tempur HD formula that is placed on top of a firm layer. Tempur HD is a reformulated, high density version of the Tempur material. If you are looking for a similar Tempur-Pedic mattress that is more plush I recommend the Tempurpedic Grandbed.
The Tempurpedic Allura features Tempur-Pedic’s proprietary AirFlow System. It is made up of three layers. The first is a pillow top, which consists of 2 inches of Tempur HD material. The second is 2.8 inches of standard Tempur material. The last layer is 8.6 inches of Dual AirFlow system foam. This makes the mattress 13.5 inches thick. The Tempur-Pedic Allura is elegantly tailored in a silk bamboo blend cover fabric and features microsuede sides. The Allura mattress is also compatible with the Tempur Ergo adjustable beds.
The Tempur-Pedic Allura is part of the Tempurpedic Contour Collection. The Tempurpedic Contour Collection is known for it’s firm feel while gently conforming to your body. Tempurpedic memory foam mattresses uniquely respond to your body’s weight and curves to give you a custom night of comfortable sleep. Another benefit of Tempurpedic mattresses is that they provide excellent motion isolation.
Tempur-Pedic has another Allura model, the Tempur-Cloud Allura in the Tempur-Cloud Collection.

Hard and ungiving! Painful. Causing me more medical issues with hips and shoulders.
Mattress Rating:Horrible HARD mattress. I am in excruciating pain all night tossing and turning. I have complained to Mattress FIRM who sold me the bed. Now I have to pay them to take it back. you sink into the pillow top for about 7 minutes.... fall asleep then continue sinking until the HARD tempurpedic material underneath is reached. HORRIBLE. This stuff I have been told about having the neighborhood kids come and jump on it, or take of my shoes and walk on it... or purchase a heating blanket and put it on the bed for 20 minutes before I go to bed. Oh, then I am told to buy a mattress topper. Why would I purchase a $4000.00 mattress to have to go through all of this? NOT good if you are a side sleeper. My shoulders and hips are killing me!
Mattress Durability:This mattress just basically is horrible. Probably durable enough for an Army Tank to run over it, however.
Mattress Support:PAIN, PAIN, PAIN!
Mattress Features and Benefits as Advertised:I have more pain now than before when I was sleeping on a regular coil spring mattress
Quality:Generally not very good. HARD
