TEMPUR-Contour Elite

TEMPUR-Contour Elite is the middle of three new TEMPUR-Contour Collection memory foam mattresses introduced in 2014 by Tempur-Pedic. The other two models are TEMPUR-Contour Supreme and TEMPUR-Contour Rhapsody Luxe. Key components in this 12½" mattress are the EasyRefresh™ top cover, SmartClimate™ cooling system, two kinds of TEMPUR memory foam, and an airflow-promoting base foam.

The top panel of the EasyRefresh cover is fully zippered for easy removal and cleaning. This cover also utilizes the SmartClimate System. The key ingredient of this system is fiber which wicks moisture from the sleeping surface to evaporate and cool the mattress. The entire cover is treated with an anti-microbial substance to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and dust mites.

The two memory foams in the TEMPUR-Contour Elite are a 1.2" comfort layer of TEMPUR-HD and a 2.4" support layer of TEMPUR. These layers combine to yield a comfort level of Medium-Firm with a TEMPUR-Adapt level of Medium-High contouring conformity.

The bottom layer of highly resilient base foam has a surface which allows circulation of air. This layer both supports and cools the mattress as a whole.

TEMPUR-Pedic recommends four foundations for use with the TEMPUR-Contour Elite. These are two platforms (TEMPUR-Flat Foundation and TEMPUR-Up Foundation) and two adjustable beds (Ergo Plus Adjustable Base and Ergo Premier). The TEMPUR-Up Foundation is like the TEMPUR-Flat Foundation except the head portion can be raised.

The TEMPUR-Contour Elite has a 10-year non-prorated warranty, which is now standard for all new Tempurpedic mattresses. It is available through several retailers, both in stores and online. Expect it to be more widely available as retailers replenish their stocks.
