microcoils in a comfort layer. The main support rests in three 3½" cores of highly resilient plant-based
foam.
The support core is 10½" high, but having it in three layers rather than a solid block has some advantages. One is an increase in conformity. The boundaries of the layers allow the core to adjust to the sleeper's body. It also dampens motion transfer.

The Hoyt is closer to the sleeper than a pocket coil support core would be. Since Marshall coils respond independently, they conform to the user's body contours as memory foam would. But they are lighter, and also cooler since they allow air to flow through.
