The Keetsa Latex

Keetsa Eco-Friendly Mattresses calls The Keetsa Latex "Simply Natural. Supple & Responsive." This is one ot two Keetsa models with latex (the other is the Tea Leaf Dream). In this 9" innerspring mattress, the comfort layer is latex; no other foams are used.

As with most of the Keetsa mattresses, the cover fabric of The Keetsa Latex is 100% unbleached organic cotton canvas. This cover is quilted to wool fiber padding. The wool padding is compressed to form a chemical-free fire barrier.

The 1½" thick comfort layer of The Keetsa Latex mattress is natural latex, which is naturally anti-bacterial and resistant to mold and mildew. It is also hypoallergenic. Highly resilient latex makes the mattress firm, supportive for back sleepers. Keetsa suggests adding a mattress pad, their Latex Comfort Layer, to make it softer for those who sleep on their side or stomach.

The support unit of The Keetsa Latex is a 7½" high innerspring of iCoil independently wrapped pocket coils. Pocket coils were invented to relieve pressure points. They also cancel motion transfer.

The Keetsa Latex does not have foam encasement as do the other innerspring models of Keetsa Eco-Friendly Mattresses. The border cover of this mattress is quilted to not only the wool fiber padding, but also cotton backing fabric, which helps hold the coils in place. With only a 1½" comfort layer, the coils provide edge support for the sleeping surface.

Keetsa sells three foundations which they recommend for their mattreses, including The Keetsa Latex. They are a platform bed, The Freeport by The BedWorks of Maine, the Vivon Bi-Fold Box Spring, and the Keetsa Steel Bed Frame. Keetsa discourages use of their mattresses with Murphy beds and adjustable bases.
