The Keetsa Plus is one of the five innerspring mattresses in the current seven-model lineup by Keetsa Eco-Friendly Mattresses. Keetsa describes it as "basic, straightforward, comfortable," and "an iCoil™ mattress with a layer of memory foam."
The support core of The Keetsa Plus is an iCoil unit of individually wrapped pocket coils (768 in Queen size). These 7" high coils respond independently to the weight of the sleeper's body, conforming to its shape. This provides even support along the whole length of the body to prevent pressure points. It also keeps the spine in line.
The corners of the innerspring are filled with foam. This works together with foam encasement to protect the coils and keep them in place. Added protection comes from a foam bottom rail. This encasement not only protects the coils, it also supports the edge of the sleeping surface.
The cover of The Keetsa is 100% organic cotton. This is quilted with several layers. The first is a non-chemical Fire Safe fire barrier. Next is breathable padding consisting of natural wool and poly fibers.
The third layer is 1" of Keetsa's Bio-Foam memory foam. Bio-Foam is 12% castor bean oil. The advantage of using castor bean oil in a plant-oil based foam, rather than soy, is that castor bean oil is a natural polyol which does not need to be converted to be a suitable foam ingredient. This foam is infused with EverGreen™, an extract of green tea, to conserve mattress freshess.
The quilting layers are completed with a half inch of Super Soft foam and a quilt lining. Under the lining is another half-inch of Super Soft capping the iCoils.
The preferred foundation for The Keetsa Plus provides full, consistent support across the entire bottom of the mattress. Keetsa Eco-Friendly Mattresses sells the Keetsa Steel Bed Frame with closely spaced bars, a center rail, and twelve legs. At 14" high, it leaves room for under-the-bed storage. Wood platforms are also acceptable as foundations. Keetsa's warranty does not allow for murphy beds or adjustable beds. Besides the Keetsa Steel Bed Frame, The Freeport by The BedWorks of Maine (a solid ash wood bed) and the Vivon Bi-Fold Steel Box Spring are available through Keetsa.
Keetsa covers The Keetsa Plus with a 12-year non-prorated warranty which applies only to original buyers of mattresses purchased from Keetsa or an authorized dealer.
