With a 15" depth, The Lovejoy is the highest model in the Offset Coil Mattresses collection of innerspring mattresses by Portland area bedding manufacturer Parklane Mattresses. This seems approriate for a model named after a co-founder of Portland. It is also unique within this category by having two types of coils: an offset coil support core and a microcoil comfort layer. It also features latex comfort layers, HD foam base, and two felt insulation layers. The other mattresses in this collection are The Tillamook, The Morrison, The Alder, The Cornell, The Irving, The Quimby, and The Stanton.
The Lovejoy has more than 500 14-ga. offset coils in the innerspring. This is fewer than some other of Parklane's offset coil models, but they are enhanced by the pocket microcoils. Offset coils are bettter suited for spinal support than continuous coils or Bonnell coils, which is one reason why they are found in higher-value mattresses than those. Offset coils are also better for pressure relief than Bonnell and continuous coils, because they have a greater degree of conformity, second only to Marshall (pocket) coils.
Speaking about Marshall coils, that is the kind of coil in the microcoil layer. The 1,300+ individually-wrapped pocket coils increase the degree of conformity, further relieving pressure to provide quality sleep. A secondary advantage of microcoils in the comfort section is that they increase airflow. The amount of airflow then depends on the air permeabilit yof the wrapping fabric.
Two layers of Talatech latex foam complete the comfort section. This 85%-15% blend of natural and synthetic latex is hghly resilient and durable. It is also breathable, anti-fungal, anti-microbial and hypo-allergenic. Latex is also temperature neutral, which means it does not get too warm.
Two 2" layers of cotton felt are in The Lovejoy. The first is between the innerspring and the comfort layers. The second is between the foam layers and the microcoils. In both cases, the function of the felt is to protect the coils and the foam from each other.
The bottom layer of the mattress is a base pad of high-density plant-based foam. This pad absorbs impacts for more comfort. Combined with the offset coils, microcoils and latex foam, this dampens the transfer of motion from one side of the bed to the other, reducing partner sleep disturbance.
Foam encasement provides edge support. This extends the usability of the sleeping surface to the edge. It also eases access and egress and makes the edge supportive for sitting.
Parklane Mattresses sells two kind of foundations for The Lovejoy. Parklane makes an upholstered, reinforced wood-slatted foundation, which is more like a platform, from North American timber. This can be placed on the adjustable steel bed frame sold by Parklane. It also carries two Customatic models of adjustable beds, the Freestyle and the Sectional 6.
The Lovejoy is crafted by hand in Oregon, USA. It comes with Parklane's 90 Night Comfort Guarantee and Platinum Warranty. The warranty covers this mattress with no charge for repairs or replacement for 25 years.
