The Morrison
The Morrison is an innerspring mattress made and sold by Parklane Mattress, a bedding manufacturer and retailer in the Portland, Oregon, area.

Support in The Morrison relies in the innerspring with over 500 offset coils. Unlike Bonnell coils, the ends of each coil are squared on opposite sides. They are tied to coils on either side with helical wire, a hinge-like arrangement allowing the innerspring to be more flexible than the Bonnell, but with each coil still being aided by its neighbors.

Around the innerspring is foam encasement, to both protect the coils and support the edge. This is to prevent roll-offs and make the entire sleeping suface usable. Foam encasement is the most common foam of edge support in mattresses today.

. The Morrison is a one-sided mattress, meaning that it is non-flipable. It has a 2" foam base on the bottom, and two layers of "comfort foam" above the springs. This high-density foam is, according to Parklane, plant-based, using soy-derived ingredients. The comfort materials also include two cotton felt layers. Altogether, this model is 11" high. The overall comfort level is firm.

Because of the offset coils, The Morrison is not compatible with adjustable beds. However, Parklane Mattresses makes a wood slat foundation made from North American forest timber. It has 14 slats, and is upholstered to complement the mattress. Parklane also recommends a mattress protector, especially if use makes it liable to spills and soiling.

The Morrison has a Parklane 25-year Silver Warranty. This is a 25/10 plan: no charges in the first 10 years for repairs or replacement, but charges may apply in the remaining years.
