The Novosbed is the mattress made by Canadian-based Novosbed. This memory foam mattress has been made since 2009. It is still the same mattress, though with some refinements to make it better.

The Novosbed was originally sold under three models names, Harmony, Aria and Classic. These are all the same 11" height. Now these model names have been dropped, replaced by the firmness levels, Soft, Medium and Firm, respectively. A Novosbed photo illustrates the concept that just as one size does not fit all, neither does one firmness fit all.
These firmnesses are achieved with the relative heights of the lower layers and the densities of the upper two. The support foam is described by Novosbed as "super-dense" and the memory foam as "ultra-dense."
The support core in all three models is made of Premium Support Foam (polyurethane), which is 1.8#/ft3. This is 6" high in Soft, 7" high in Medium and Firm.
The middle layer is memory foam. It is 2" high and 5#/ft3 in Medium and Firm, and 3" high and 4#/ft3 in Soft.
The top layer is 2" of memory foam in all models. It is 3.7#/ft3 in Soft, 5#/ft3 in Medium, and 4#/ft3 in Firm. This memory foam is perforated for ventilation. The airflow cools the mattress. Novosbed does not use gel, since it is chemical in nature, and might have adverse effects on some people.
The cover is the same in all models of The Novosbed. It is a stretch knit, as are most memory foam mattress covers. The top panel does have an interesting blend of polyester, modacrylic, lyocell and silica. The lyocell makes it more stretchy. The silica infusion makes the cover itself flame resistant: no underlying layer, no chemicals. It is zippered to be removeable and washable.
The border (side panels) is furniture grade upholstery fabric, also fire resistant, with a blend of polyester, visil, silica, modacrylic and polypropolene. This is engineered to resist wear and protect the core of the mattress.
Inside is a cover for the core. It is 2-way stretch and elastic. This means the memory foam is still protected when the top panel is removed for cleaning.
The Novosbed comes with a slatted wood foundation. The pieces are shipped in a box and can be screwed together on site and covered with the upholstery fabric cover.
