The Pittock

The Pittock is a latex mattress made by Parklane Mattresses. It is also one of the more expensive models from the Portland, Oregon, company. Besides all natural latex, its materials include wool, Belgian linen and Belgian damask. Parklane notes that availability depends on the supply of wool from "our woolen mill."

The support core of The Pittock is a 6" core of all-natural Talalay latex. It is made entirely from rubber tree sap. It is hypoallergenic, since allergy causing proteins were washed out after curing. It is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, which means it resists mold and mildew. Parklane says this latex is "best of all, temperature neutral." Latex is also durable.

Parklane Mattresses uses more than 36 lbs. of wool in The Pittock's quilting layers. This wool is 100% organic, meaning that chemicals have not been used on either the sheep or the wool. According to Parklane, it is sheared from sheep raised on a local (not too far from Portland) Oregon sheep ranch and prepared at a 100-year-old woolen mill. The wool layers total about 4" thick, bringing the mattress height to approximately 10" overall.

The Pittock is compatible with adjustable beds, such as the Freestyle and the Sectional 6. It can also be used with the Parklane wood-slat foundation, available in either 9" Standard or 4" Low Profile.

The Pittock is covered against defects in materials of manufacturing by Parklane Mattresses's 25-year Platinum Warranty. For the full term, there is no charge for repairs or replacement.
