The Powell

The Powell is classified by Parklane Mattresses as a "Green Mattress." This 9" model has a soy-based foam support core and Talalay latex comfort layers, and the foundation is made of wood.

Parklane Mattresses uses 5.5" of their Eco-Foam in the support core of The Powell. Eco-Foam is a plant-based material. The primary ingredient is soy polyols. It is high density with a 1.8 lbs weight and 36 ILD.

Talatech used for the two comfort layers is a proprietary formulation of Talalay latex. It consists of 85% natural latex and 15% butadiene. Among the benefits of latex are its resiliency and durability, being naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to mold and bacteria. It is also biodegradable, another reason to classify this mattress as "green."

The cover of The Powell Bamboo fabric quilted with quilting foam and high-loft rayon. The rayon is flame retardant without the use of chemicals. Parklane Mattresses exlains the flame retardant properties of this rayon layer thus:
..... "The rayon used is a high loft fire barrier and is an engineered fiber yarn consisting of silica wrapped in a rayon sheath. This spun yarn has patented properties that when exposed to flame, the core of the yarn creates a strong skeletal framework that holds char in place blocking flames from penetrating the fabric and spreading."

The base for The Powell is a wood slat foundation. It is made of North American forest timber and is heavy duty with 14 slats. The foundation is available in either of two heights: 9" Standard or 4" Low Profile.

The warranty on The Powell is Parklane Mattresses' 25-Year Silver. The first 10 years are no charge for repairs or replacement. Charges may apply (prorated) in the last 15 years.
