The Uptown is a firm memory foam mattress. It is listed under the category of GEL Foam and Memory Foam Mattresses, which currently has only three models. The others are The Broadway and The Glisan. With only two layers totaling 10" high, The Uptown is the simplest and lowest priced of the GEL Foam and Memory Foam Mattresses. According to Parklane Mattresses, it offers "A cool, comfortable and customized sleep experience."
The support core of The Uptown is 6" of plant-based polyurethane foam. This foam is highly resilient for firm support that is not too hard. Being plant-based, the support foam reduces the use of petroleum.
The comfort layer of almost 4" is Preserve® Memory Foam. This memory foam has an open-cell configuration which allows airflow for cooling and freshness. Memory foam responds to weight and heat to conform to the body contours of the user(s). The means that every portion of the body receives full support. Since the parts of the body that stick out more, such as hips and shoulders, don't have to carry all the weight, pressure points don't build up. Since The Uptown is firm, it is recommended more for back sleepers. Side sleepers looking for Parklane Mattresses close in price to The Uptown should look at The Westover or The Prescott.
The cover of The Uptown is infused with bamboo fibers. Bamboo brings seveal properties to the cover fabric: It wicks moiture away for both dryness and coolness. It is resistant to bacteria and allergens (such as dust mites). And natural bamboo fibers are smooth, especially since they are naturally long.
The Uptown is adjustable bed compatible. Parklane Mattresses carries two Customatic Adjustable Bedz models, the Sectional 6 and the Freestyle.
Parklane also makes an upholstered wood foundation for The Uptown. This wood-slatted platform is made from timber harvested from North American forests. The slats are closely spaced and strongly reinforced for the consistent support needed by specialty mattresses. It can be placed on Parklane's adjustable bed frame of heavy steel. Regular box springs are not recommended for this type of mattress.
