At 11" high, The Westover is the lowest model in the category of Marshall Coil Mattresses by Parklane Mattresses. In spite of just the coils, a base pad and the quilted top panel, this is a plush mattress.
The 2" high base pad is made of soy foam. This high-density material protects the coils from below while cushioning the whole mattress, absorbing shock.
The heart of this innerspring mattress is the array of 800 Marshall (pocket) coils. These coils are individually wrapped in fabric pockets. The independent response of each coil gives The Westover innerspring the contouring conformity of memory foam without the heat. This prevents pressure points, often a cause of disturbed sleep. It also keeps the spine properly aligned for side sleepers. Additionally, pocket coils are the best springs for elimination of motion transfer, better than offset coils (including open-ended), continuous coils, and Bonnell coils.
The Marshall coil innerspring is enclosed on the sides and ends by foam encasement. This keeps the individual coils in place and upright. It also supplies edge support for the sleeping surface to prevent rolling off. This support also helps sleepers to more easily get into and out of bed, as well as to sit on the edge of the bed wihout sliding off.
The top panel of the cover is a damask knit of polyester. It is quilted with 1½" quilting foam and a rayon fire retardant. The non-quilted side panels display a plaid pattern which is matched on the upholstered wood foundation.
The foundation for The Westover is a wood platform with a slatted top. The wood comes from North American forests. The closely-spaced slats allow air to circulate while providing consistent support for the mattress. The foundation is upholstered with the same fabric as the sides of the mattress it is paired with.
