Therapedic EcoGel Collection
The signature feature of the EcoGel Collection of mattresses by Therapedic is the use of Therapedic's proprietary EcoGel gel-infused memory foam. A pre-polymer is swirled into the soy-based foam precursor as the foam is compounded. As the foam sets, the gel forms as swirls integral to the soy memory foam.

This gel memory foam has an open-cell configuration which allows air to filter through it for ventilation and cooling. This combines with the heat-dissipation properties of the gel to cool the sleeping surface. In addition to cooling, the gel component of the foam is reputed to enhance pressure relief properties of the memory foam.

Therapedic lists three EcoGel models on its website: Blue Lagoon, Blue Essence, Blue Heaven and Blue Paradise. But some other model names appear on some retailers' sites, such as Blue Tranquility, which at 9" high appears to be an additional model.

The support cores of mattresses in the Therapedic EcoGel Collection are 1.8 density, 30 IFD base foam, ranging in height from 5.25 to 6 inches.

Above the primary support core is a 1" latex enhanced support layer. Blue Paradise has an additional latex support layer, 2.0 density and 18 IFD. These latex layers serve as transition from the primary support core to the comfort layers, cushioning the sleeper while still providing support.

The top foam layer is the EcoGel memory foam, using the Futura SwirlGel technology (described in the first paragraph) to provide both cooling and conformity. Most of the models add other layers beneath the EcoGel foam. These include 5-lb. high support memory foam and 1.8/20 convoluted foam. In addition, Blue Heaven adds a 2" layer of Talalay latex atop the EcoGel (the signature feature of this model).

Each Therapedic EcoGel model features a one-inch layer of DynaFlow® Cooling Fabric for cooling and breathability. This is just under the zippered cover of stretch fabric. EcoGel Collection mattresses carry a 10 year non-prorated warranty.

The Therapedic EcoGel Collection is advertised as environmentally friendly. For instance, soy-derived substances and rubber tree sap, both renewable resources, are the raw materials used in their foams.

Just a Note - One of the retailers lists Blue Lagoon and Blue Essence with different dimensions from those on the Therapedic website. This may be due to all Therapedic mattresses being manufactured by licensees. Therefore it is recommended to read the descriptions by the retailer you are considering.
