Transfer Master Products, Inc. makes the Ascent I Mattress for use with its Transfer Master adjustable beds, especially those in the Supernal Recliner and Supernal Hi-Low adjustable bed systems. Another model targeted for these beds is the Soft Touch Mattress.
Both models feature border edge protection, a type of edge support, to guard against the edge sinking.
Ascent I is made of progressive laminated foams. Laminated foam itself has many uses besides in mattresses. They are made by bonding layers of foam to fabric or other foams. In Ascent I, this is labelled progressive, since this creates a progression of densities and other properties. The goal is to protect the skin. Other manufacturers of laminated foam mattresses make them for medical beds. According to Transfer Master, they produce their progressive laminated foam themselves to ensure the quality.
Shared with the Soft Touch Mattress is the choice of cover fabrics. The two fabrics are natural bamboo fiber and a waterproof stretch fabric (the fiber is not named, but it may be nylon). Bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial and odor resistant. The stretch fabric is easy to clean and protects the foam from contamination.
Since the Ascent I is sold with Transfer Master Supernal adjustable beds, it shares the same 1-year warranty with those beds.
