The two
Corbin mattresses (
Firm and
Plush) are the lowest-priced models of the
Trump Home iSeries. Like the other models, they feature
Serta's
iSeries Technology, which puts together
Serta's
Cool Action™ gel memory foam and
Duet® Coil support system.
Cool Action™ is memory foam which is infused with gel beads, what
Serta calls
MicroSupport™ Gel. Memory foam itself is a visco-elastic material first formulated for cushioning astronauts at launch. It was later developed for consumer use and called "memory foam" because it returned to its original shape after use. Memory foam responds to the weight and heat of a user's body and conforms to its shape. This makes the support even across the whole body, reducing pressure on points of the body which otherwise would have to bear a disproportionate share of the body's weight.
By introducing gel into the memory foam,
Serta makes it more supportive, and also makes it cooler. Memory foam naturally builds up heat. Forming the foam with an open-cell structure and ventilation pores and infusing it with gel counters this tendency. Nevertheless, it may still get too warm for some individuals.
The
Duet® Coil support system in the
Trump Home Corbin Firm and
Corbin Plush uses dual coils which are individually wrapped. These are 2-in-1 coils, a coil-in-coil configuration. A separately-wrapped smaller coil is inside a larger wrapped coil. This makes for a two-stage response. The taller coil responds first, with a cushioning effect. Then the shorter coil increases support. This is ideal for sleepers of different weights.
Since the
Duet® Coils in the
Corbin models are pocket coils, each pair responds independently, tailoring support to the shape of the body. Thus the
Duet® Coils and the
Cool Action™ gel memory foam work together to provide conforming support. The density of coils is greater in the middle of the mattress where most of the body weight is. This promotes proper spinal posture. These coils are made of tempered steel, and the coil count in a queen mattress is 594 dual coils. These individual coils are supported by
BestEdge foam encasement, which also provides edge support to the sleeping surface.
The
Corbin Firm and
Corbin Plush models in the
Trump Home iSeries collection have silk-wool blend cover fabric. This is breathable and insulating with a soft, smooth feel.
The comfort layers of the
Corbin models include
Cool Action™ gel memory foam and Serta Comfort memory foam. The Corbin Firm has a top layer of Serta Support foam, while this layer in the Corbin Plush is Serta Comfort. With this as the only difference between these two models, they share a 13" height.
Fixed foundations are available for the Trump Home iSeries Corbin Firm and Corbin Plush, but Serta says they are compatible with their Motion Perfect® adjustable foundations.
Like all models in the Serta Trump Home iSeries, the Corbin Firm and Corbin Plush have a 120-day trial period and carry a 25-year warranty. They ae available at several retailers across the country.
