Trump Home iSeries Valena
Trump Home iSeries is a collection in the iSeries line by Serta. iSeries mattresses, including the Trump Home Valena are gel memory foam/innerspring hybrids, featuring Serta's Duet coil system with comfort layers of their Cool Action gel memory foam. According to Serta, mattresses in the Trump Home collection are "designed to the high standards of Trump’s 5-Star hotels," which are known for luxury.

Serta's Cool Action is open-cell memory foam embedded with beads of MicroSupport™ Gel. Gel-infusion of foams (memory foam, latex and polyurethane) is now fairly common among mattresses manufacturers. They differ, however, on the formulas of the gel and how it is infused into the foam, as well as the structure and formulation of the foam itself, so Serta's Cool Action gel-infused visco-elastic memory foam would be in some way unique. The video on Serta's iSeries webpage shows how the gel provides more support when the foam is compressed. This is in addition to the cooling function of gel as it absorbs body heat and transfers it to where it can dissipate.


The Valena stands out from the other Trump Home iSeries in having three Cool Action foam layers. The conforming cushioning with extra support is intended to practically eliminate pressure points and make the mattress suitable for just about any sleeping position. The actual arrangment is two layers of Cool Action memory foam, then a layer of Cool Action energy (polyurethane) foam.

Underneath the foam comfort core of the Trump Home iSeries Valena is the support core. The key feature here is the Duet Coil innerspring. These individually wrapped pocket coils have a coil-in-coil design. They are "strategically placed" to provide this kind of support where needed most. The heavier, wider outer coil is taller. Coils naturally increase their resistance as they are compressed. But with the Duet 2-in-1 coils, even more resistance is met when compression reaches the inner coil. This provides more support at this point. It also takes some pressure off the outer coil, which should make it longer-lasting. With this arrangement, the innerspring should have enough give to cushion lighter users and more support for heavier ones, which is important for a couple where one is very heavy and the other very light.


Since these are pocket coils, not tied together, each coil responds independently to the pressure placed upon it. This serves two purposes. First, pocket coils are more contouring. Second, it should dampen motion transfer, reducing or eliminating partner disturbance. According to the online Serta iSeries video (mentioned above), the coil density is greater in the center third of the mattress, with 2/3 of the coils in this zone. This is for more support where most of the body weight is.

The top of the Trump Home iSeries Valena mattress features Continuous Comfort™ sleep surface design. This allows closer contact between the sleeper and the gel, with a 2" layer of KoolComfort memory foam. The mattress cover is zippered for removal and cleaning. This is combined with Serta's BestEdge Foam Encasement to provide even support across the entire sleeping surface. An additional feature is the hidden handles.

Photos of the Trump Home iSeries Valena show it on a box spring. However, Serta mentions that the Valens is compatible with their Motion Perfect® Adjustable Foundation.
