The Twilight/Clear Sky Series of innerspring mattresses from Spring Time Bedding has five models (2 Twilight and 3 Clear Sky). The models in this series are available in three firmness levels: Firm, Firm Plush (medium), and Plush. The mattresses are not all the same height. These models are Clear Sky 849 (10"), Clear Sky 850 (11"), Clear Sky 851 (12"), Twilight 976 (10"), and Twilight 977 (10"). All meet federal standards for fire safety in bedding.
The Spring Time Twilight and Clear Sky mattresses share several features: Stretch knit cover quilted to two foam layers, two comfort layers, double-Z bar edge support, and a 460-count heavy duty innerspring.
The innerspring unit of Twilight/Clear Sky mattresses have 460 coils in queen size. With more coils than models with the 312 coil count, these have a smoother feel for the same level of support. Also, more coils with smaller diameters allows the innerspring to adjust more finely to the size and shape of a sleeper's body for less pressure and more even support distribution.
The cover fabric on the Clear Sky and Twilight mattresses is stretch knit, which can conform with the quilting and comfort foams to the sleepers without dragging or bunching. This knit is quilted to two layers of soft high density quilting foam. The type of foam is not named, but most manufacturers' quilting foams are polyurethane unless otherwise specified. Quilting the top panel makes it supportive and cushioning.
Both of the comfort layers for models in this series are high density foam. The upper layer is polyurethane. The un-named foam in the lower layer is firm. The comfort section rests on an insulator pad made of non-recycled materials (this reduces the risk of transmitting previous contamination of substances). The insulator pad protects the foam from damage by the coils.
Edge support is provided by double-Z bars (like one Z on top of another) around the perimeter of the innerspring. These have enough give to keep from being harsh while keeping the edge of the sleeping surface from sagging. This prevents roll-offs and makes the surface completely usable, even to sitting on the edge. It also makes it easier to get into and out of bed.
Spring Time Bedding sells two upholsterd foundations (9" Standard and 5" Low Profile) for use with the Clear Sky and Twilight innerspring mattresses. They also sell three models of platform beds. The warranty requires adequate foundational support for these mattresses.
The Spring Time Bedding warranty for mattresses in the Twilight/Clear Sky Series is for 10 years. The first 5 years are non-prorated, and the remaining 5 have a prorated charge for repairs or replacement.
