U15 Harmony

U15 Harmony is the higher of the two models in the Ultimate Series of air beds in the 2015 Collection by Comfortaire, the oldest manufacturer of adjustable air beds. The U15 Harmony is somewhat like the Elite Comfort Series model Elite 4 of the 2013 Collection. Unlike the older model, the cover of the U15 is not quilted, allowing the sleeper to feel the memory foam underneath.

A split-top mattress like the other model, U11 Solstice, the U15 uses Attune Design with an air support layer of urethane film air chambers extending the full width and length of the sleeping surface for Edge-to-Edge adjustable support. Each side has its own controls for individualized comfort. The single mattress below the head allows for a feeling of being one, while separate elevations of the head let each user select the best sleeping position. One partner can sit up to read or use a mobile device while the other partner sleeps.

Attune Design continues with a foam support core beneath the air chamber layer. In the U15 Harmony, this is highly resilient foam with a 1.8 density. It is 6" high and covered with fabric. Around it is a 6" high foam encasement, also fabric-covered, having velcro fasteners. The overall comfort level is Plush.

Inflation of the air chambers is controlled by the Whisperflo 7200, a dual-diaphragm air pump. Being dual-diaphragm allows it to be quieter than older air pumps. The wired hand control is simple and easy-to-use.

The use of Feran Ice Technology in the cover is to keep the sleepers cool and dry. Fibers included in the cover fabric wick moisture away from the sleeping surface to evaporate.

Under the cover is the comfort layer. This is open-cell memory foam called CoolFlow. Added to this foam are ThermaGel, a temperature controlling gel, and graphite, which is a super-conductor of heat.

Comfortaire cites use of their "premium powerbase" foundation, an adjustable bed, which would be the Silhouette adjustable base made for Comfortaire by Leggett & Platt.

The warranty for the Comfortaire U15 Harmony is for 25 years with the first 4 years non-prorated. This model is currently for sale on the Comfortaire website, and is expected to be available through retailers by the end of 2014.
