Vinyl Products Manufacturing (VP) makes thre models of foam mattresses under their Alternative Sleep Systems label. Not just foam beds, all three models are memory foam mattresses aka visco mattresses. As with the other VP beds, these are are made in the US with American-made materials.
The three models are rather prosaically named: 8” Visco Mattress, 10” Visco Mattress, and 12” Visco Mattress.
Each model has a base layer (support core) of polyurethane foam. This very firm foam has a density of 1.8 and an ILD of 35-45. On top of this layer is 2" of firm convoluted foam for breathability.
Each mattress also has a top layer of 45 ILD memory foam. This is 2" of 4-lb. foam in the 8" model, 2" of 5-lb. in the 10", and 4" of 5-lb. in the 12" mattress.
The 10" Visco Mattress and the 12" Visco Mattress each have a layer of Dura-Soft latex between the convoluted foam and the memory foam. This 5-lb. latex is 2" high with an ILD of 20-25.
The Vinyl Products Foam Mattresses have foam encasement edge support. The 5" deep foam rails are 6" high on the 8" Visco Mattress and 8" on the 10" Visco Mattress and the 12" Visco Mattress. The top layer of memory foam overlaps the foam rail on all sides.
I do not know how long Vinyl Products Mfg. has been listing the Foam Mattresses. I have not yet found them carried by any online retailers. The Contact box on the side bar is for retailers interested in their products.
