The Classic Superb is pictured in a Country Cottage setting by Vispring. It is noted by the filling of long horsetail hair and the two layers of vanadium pocket coils. Other than the steel coil wire, all the ingredients in the Classic Superb are natural.
With a diameter of 62 mm (2.44), the individually wrapped pocket coils are a bit wider than the average spring size in Vispring innerspring mattresses. These stacked coils are nested by hand in their calico pockets. I did not see the coil count, but the coil size indicates fewer coils.
The insulator between the coil layers is wool, as are the layers above and below the double-stacked coil unit. This is Platinum Certified British fleece wool, and is 1 ounce per square foot. Fleece wool of the same weight also lies over the horsehair filling.
The space between the wool and the cover is filled with long stranded horsetail hair. This hair is teased by hand to make it fluffy and cushioning at 7 ounces per square foot. It is laid into place using time-honed technique and skill. Teased horsehair is springy, and was used in mattresses before innersprings were invented.
The cover of the Classic Superb consists of cotton ticking. The wool layer just under it serves as the federally mandated fire resistant barrier.
The sides (borders) are 9.1" high (the overall height is 10.5"). The borders have air vents on all sides and are stitched by hand in three rows. The nature of edge support is not named. The mattress as a whole is hand-tufted.
The foundation for the Classic Superb is Vispring's Prestige Boxspring Base. This is available as a 12.2" high divan (drawers are an option), a 9.8" box base, 6.7" Shallow Boxbase, or 4.7" Low Profile Base.
