The Coronet and The Elite are the two entry level luxury mattresses made by the British firm ViSpring. Actually, "entry level" is a relative term. Most Americans would not consider a mattress costing about $5,000 as "entry level."
The Coronet is a newer version of The Herald. It may be a product of the UK, but it is found in several US showrooms, including Chicago Luxury Beds, Brickell Mattress, and Urban Mattress. It is not only a luxury mattress, other than vanadium steel in the springs and rayon in the cover it is made of natural materials.
Support in The Coronet is provided by two layers of individually wrapped 1.93" wide 6-turn pocket coils, 1640 in a queen sized mattress. These coils, made of thin vanadium steel wire, are enveloped in cotton calico cloth.
The upholstery in The Coronet is British fleece wool and cotton arranged in four layers. The innermost layer of this innerspring mattress (next to the coils) is the thickest and/or densest at 4.3 oz. per square foot of wool bonded to cotton. Then two lighter layers, 1 oz per square foot, of wool. Over this is a layer of wool blended with cotton at 3.9 oz. per square foot.
The top panel cover fabric is Belgian rayon ticking, which is hand-tufted to the upholstery. Instead of hard buttons, the tufting is anchored with felt washers. The 8.3" high border (sides) of the cover is stitched to the top panel by hand. It is upholstered with wool and furnished with handles and air vents. The seams are finished with piping. Coir in the border serves as edge support.
The foundation that The Coronet is paired with is The De Luxe Divan. The De Luxe is a box spring with 840 pocket coils in a solid wood frame, which is screwed (not stapled or nailed) together with glued seams. The available heights of the divan are in whole numbers of centimeters (partial numbers of inches): 25 cm (9.8"), 17 cm (6.7") and 12 cm (4.7"). It is padded on top with British fleece wool and cotton, and fiber wadding upholsters the frame. The customer has a choice of divan covering.
ViSpring mattresses are warrantied for 20 years.
